Today we started piloting for a new study. In this study, we pose different scenarios to children and adults, and ask them whether they think it is possible for them to occur. Our study stems from previous research which shows that children are more conservative in their concepts about what is and is not possible compared to adults. However, as they grow older, certain cognitive processes purportedly undergoes development, such that they begin to respond more like adults. We are interested in determining what this development is and how it comes about.
